About Abbey Leon Sholzberg

In 1968 Abbey won the Quebec Provincial Wrestling Championship in his weight category (92 lbs). In 1969, Abbey attended the Woodstock Music Festival. He went on to pursue a career in the music industry and undertook Jazz & Classical Studies at McGill University. In 1973, he moved to Toronto and spent the next ten years travelling on the road with a variety of pop and show bands. He performed all over Canada & the United States, as well as, The Alexander Pushkin Cruise Ship to Bermuda and a tour of The British Isles with Montreal’s Island City Singers. In 1999, Abbey was a founding member of the gypsy jazz band Club Django and won accolades for both performing and recording, which includes The Canadian Collectors Congress Award and a nomination for The National Jazz Award…
