About Frank Nakashima
graduate of York University (Toronto); specialized in the performance practice of Medieval and Renaissance music; performance with The Toronto Consort, the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir (founding member), Poculi Ludique Societas (medieval drama society at the University of Toronto), and The Toronto Oratory; served on board of directors of Early Music America; currently the president of the Toronto Early Music Centre; writer/reviewer for WholeNote magazine (2001 to 2009); composer of choral works and arrangements for voices; imports books and facsimile editions from Europe; prepared and edited music scores and performing parts for publication and performance as a music calligrapher and typesetter (clients include Toronto Symphony, Mendelssohn Choir, Opera Atelier). From 1991 to 2010, he was the associate conductor at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Toronto.Specialties: Singer, musician, conductor, composer, arranger, music editor, music copyist.
